H & C (Home and Community). There were layoffs on 3/19. Mandatory meetings were called just a few hours before. Those laid off was told it was immediate. Some others were moved to other departments: Peer to Peer, Medical Records, House Calls. End of last year, it was shared in meetings that OGS (Optum Global Solutions - Philippines) were hired to work in the departments. Team members were asked to volunteer to train the new OGS team. It was emphasized the OGS coming on board did not mean anybody would lose their jobs. Only the gullible believed that lie.
One of the clinics lost 4 MAs. 3 psrs and 2 clinicians. Some even pregnant. They simply have no heart. It was awful.

Laid off today for Optum Pharmacy Licensing-Grade 27. New leadership believes any pay grade can do my job without experience.
My entire team is gone. 2 L30s, 8 L29s. Professional ICs on complex negotiations and approvals. At least we can sleep without worrying about another “emergency M&A deadline” or amendment.

I was recently laid and it wasn’t a surprise—I could feel the shift coming and saw the direction leadership was moving. I also recognized that I wasn’t being positioned in a way that aligned with future leadership opportunities.
That said, I’m incredibly grateful for the 25 years I’ve spent with the company. The experience, knowledge, and growth I’ve gained over that time have shaped me in ways I truly value.
Right now, I have mixed emotions. I will genuinely miss my team—they meant a lot to me. As for what’s next, I’m still figuring that out. The job market isn’t the easiest right now, but I’m choosing to see this as an opportunity. I needed a reset, and I plan to use this time to focus on building out some side projects and creating my own path forward.
