In social media, forums, and online discussions, here included, OP means ‘Original Poster’, the one who started the thread or made the original post.

That ‘OP’ here is also incorporated into Post ID of an original post.

FYI, here is how the post IDs work here:

  • Every thread has a unique thread ID (example: +1kcngwerz)
  • The Original Poster (OP) always shows as @OP+threadID
  • Each reply gets its own post ID with a short prefix (example: @ae+1kcngwerz)
  • The suffix after the + matches the thread ID, so all replies in a thread share it
  • You can reference someone by typing their Post ID (example: @ae+1kcngwerz or just @ae+1kcngwerz if inside the same thread).

@bb in this case OP (original poster) means Overland Park. They’re accusing formerly Sprint folks of spreading gossip.
