Unassigned seating - TLDR: If you’re in a 2 hour+ meeting you should give up your space so someone else can sit at the desk.

If you want this to change it will have to start costing them real money. My suggestion - as soon as an ergo pain crops up, report it and then go to your doctor and file for Workers Comp. When they start having to pay for carpal tunnel surgery, physical therapy and rehab we will revert to assigned seating and a renewed ergo program.

This. It’s laughable.

I’ve never witnessed that many clapping reaction emojis in a meeting before. If this comes as a surprise to leadership then your people are too afraid to share how people really feel.

This is a giant productivity ki-ler. For 8am meetings skip the OE moments and leave that time for people to find a spot to work from. Also don’t forget that TXDOT is about to rip up some major infrastructure that will make things even more challenging.

@a7 Lol, I thought that was a funny comment by old L3s. Saying he "can collaborate with someone halfway around the world in 4 minutes." Okay L3s old buddy, if that's what's expected, then why the fk are you making people move to Houston or come to the office 4 days a week?
You say you want us in the office to collaborate, I don't disagree, but then you say we don't have to sit near our team. I'm so confused.

Look the meeting is just a smoke show, there was never any chance of them really listening to any feedback.

Its purely mandates from above:
Reduce real estate costs, while making sure we use what we own.
Reduce head count in the US via attrition, nowhere else in the business has 4 days in office, just the US, because they want 5-10% attrition this year, they've stated it!

They can't even keep there bullsh-t straight, we need to be in person to collaborate, by playing where's Waldo with your coworkers that are either someone in the building or across the world. And no matter what you'll be on Teams.

I have a solution to secure your very own private office. Beans. Lots of ‘em. When you start to stink up the place, claim a medical issue (medication side effect usually is believable). Pretty soon BRES might even give you your whole floor. He-l, they’ll ask you to WFH. 😂💨💨💨
