Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

What was the point of this

A 1 hour nothing-burger. How much money did we waste in employee salary hours viewing this town hall? $2 million?

This could have been an email.

@109; can you elaborate more on what was said or done that “showed his lack of confidence in his leadership team” during the meeting?

I thought MW looked pretty anemic in his delivery. If you see him on the external financial news, he is much more charismatic and upbeat. His SETH performance showed his lack of confidence in his leadership. The most important message is the one you can see in his body language.

@ae In ABU it is basically expected by every level of management that you attend. So called “leaders” walk around the floor checking to make sure everyone is dialled in? Why? Well, sycophancy and brown-nosing is all that ABU managers know.

So no, not everyone has a choice as to whether to attend. Not attending is paramount to insubordination in some circles.

Gaslighting. The narcissist in chief, MW, think he can fool us all with his carefully crafted words.

There is no law that says you have to waste your time on these things. Ignore them.

It feels like they think of us as children and not professionals keeping this business afloat despite every curveball they’ve thrown at us over the last year to disrupt delivering the business. It almost feels disrespectful how and what they communicate. Absolutely right…there was nothing material in that townhall.
