Please let this be the end of Sampath’s leadership (or lack therof)! I tried to keep an open mind during his all hands on Monday, but that was by far, the least inspiring talk I’ve ever heard. There was no emotional connection, no reason to believe and no clear plan forward. I could not stop thinking that the dramatic changes are needed because of poor decisions in the past. Who was leading VCG? It was Sampath. Take a loss on the $4M retention bonus (what was the board thinking?) and let him go to “spend more time with his family.” Verizon needs competent leadership.
@ad: exactly noted to be an US $4M retainer.
@OP Sampath was given a retention bonus in the SEC filing
Yes cause he knows his shiet!
From the Verge - announcing the new plans : In the press event, Verizon Consumer Group CEO Sowmyanarayan Sampath said the new plans come after “years and years” of consumer research, and he noted that customers are willing to spend more on a reliable network and save money elsewhere. “They use one-ply toilet paper if they need to, but when it comes to networks, they want quality because of how much time they spend on it,” Sampath said.
Next in line to be ceo? Yeah probably
