Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

Big announcement imminent...

I'm convinced (and have some evidence) that a big announcement is coming. I think everyone is expecting CEO announcement but I suspect it's were being SOLD either wholesale or in parts.

@cy some company may want the technology for their product stack or they want the customer base. Who knows, I was surprised when Microsoft purchased Skype by they needed that t build Teams.

@a7 Carbonite is dragging the entire SMBC business down, so don't understand why that would be the focus of an acquisition.

I’m sure the announcement will be on Groundhog’s Day, which is how it feels like working here. There is no tomorrow.

Well there is a grand reversal from the supposed focus on innovation. They got rid of the only guy who was trying something new (Savinay). Notably, Muhi (penny pinching, enterprise focussed, out of touch) has returned to oversee everything - his AI first, AI AI language is just tone deaf, customers are not begging for AI; from M's perspective AI is a way to reduce running cost. It's almost like the board said, OT is incapable of change or innovation - let's return to our old ways, squeeze teams even harder to make the books look as good as possible to potential buyers.

I heard Carbonite has an offer for it alone, leaving other parts of SMB to be sold separately.

However these things take months to negotiate and OpenText would like SMB to be sold as a whole, but is considering breaking it up.

You are aware posts here are anonymous ie the idea is not to be cryptic. If you have evidence put it up, otherwise be quiet.
