HR will be on bcc

Not a manager or someone who's been let go but, I'd imagine HR isn't ever ON the invite but rather BCC'd and/or a seperate invite is sent to them. Which makes sense because if someone about to be laid off see's HR on the invite, they could go hostile...
ouch
might be temporary secret probation
Yes its possibe you are going to be put on temporary,secret probation
@bc What are the current US severance packages? Still 2 months plus two weeks per year pay plus 70% of the bonus?
Yea you’re toast. Mine was an impromptu invite with just my mgr. No Hr. He reads a script then you get an email from HR afterwards.
@ah yes- this was the same for my WFR call in December/
I didn't have HR on the meeting invite. I got a random 1:1 for updates, and a script was read. I was told I can have the rest of the day off and have 2 days to prepare for the exit. After the call, there was an email from HR.
some HR scab will be on the call the take the questions your manager is not qualified to answer. It will be some lifeless peckerhead that could give a flying cr-p. Be prepared. Record it for giggles and tell them you're doing so.
They don't have enough HR to sit in on calls.
I think HR is involved when the manager might flag you for a potentially hostile event.
Probably not. HR was present at mine and most folks I know that were impacted didn't have them present. Pretty useless in this matter anyhow.
@aw both follow same timelines. I’m sorry and good luck.
manager here. when the invite is sent we bcc HR per their direction.
Monday Tuesday of next week.. $#it hits the fan for lots of team... i was told about 4 % of team members globally. then a bigger on at the end of feb.
@ad nope. US
Got a meeting invite late Friday for a random 1:1 the following Monday. No HR on my call, only my manager kicking things off with "I have a script to read, let me get through it." Then a follow up email from HR. It is definitely what you think it is, I would start preparing for the layoff now.
did it say 'business update'. Mine did and HR was not on the invite. They were on the call though.
Thats the usual MO - unexpected 1:1 meeting with T&A added later.
Sorry to hear that.
This is exactly what you think it is. This should not come as a surprise.
Accept it for what it is and maintain your dignity.
You manager will not respond to any query.
Are you in Canada? And I think it’s 99.99% what you think it is. I’m so sorry if this is a surprise for you.
@ab my leader is not answering me
I would straight up ask you leader what the subject matter is. Be honest that you are worried, get answers before stressing out over the weekend. Good luck.
CSG manager here and can confirm. You get a script and you schedule separate invitations for employee and HR (with the same meeting link). Then you read the script, you can't deviate a word from it or put personal thoughts or emotions. In my discussions 100% HR joined the calls
I've heard from other people that got laid off that HR will turn up at the exact time of the meeting. I am also hearing that sometimes they don't show up and the Manager reads from a script.
HR wasn't invited on mine. Monday meeting is 99.9% WFR script about to be read to you.
@a4 CSG
@a3 is HR copied?
Should be fine. Relax and enjoy the weekend!
Orgs?
Me too. But the 1x1 for me is a layoff meeting. My boss is great and gave a heads up.
@a1 yes
HR isn’t copied if it is a WFR call. If they are going to be on the call it is forwarded to them separately. Was the meeting just labeled 1x1?
