Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I often ponder my future on the way home after a long dismal day at Ford.

The sheer volume of work communication is overwhelming. It feels like I'm stuck in a tailspin of Jira tickets, Slack and Teams messages, and endless slide decks and worthless meetings. Data is buried on the network; nobody seems to care. The work itself is often straightforward, but the process we're using is a mess filled with red tape and bureaucracy. It's no wonder we're constantly redoing work and bleeding money. Recalls are the norm, and we've only seen the tip of the iceberg, folks; thousands of cars with the same inherent issues will soon go belly up. $$$ spent on new buildings and programs with little hope for success. I have a feeling layoffs are just around the corner, which is how things usually go here. F

PD / To4 meetings are the worst. Half the time they overlap with other meetings and nothing of value comes out of 85% of them.

I didn’t start getting promos until I decided to do less work.

More like depress you. We are bucket fillers here, junior. Now sit in the corner with this tall hat and think about what you said.

OP actually gets it - they really work(ed) here... Dissociating on the way home builds longevity.

@by Your coworker noticed after you leached off them while your superiors protected you from complaining. Welcome to FnF

@bv exactly, I have been doing a lot less work recently and nobody has noticed. In fact, my LL5 told me last week that he has been hearing great things about my work

@OP

Try to use all that to your advantage. Chaotic processes, excessive communications, and redone work all offer attractive places to hide and slack. It's easy if you commit yourself.

@OP spot on, leave before it is too late. You think it is bad in Dearborn try CE1, disorganized chaos filled with Apple Cobblers who get promo because of rampant cronyism.

You should ponder your future writing fake posts like this, lol. Adding the F at the end is a nice touch to try to make it sound hip. I think people at Ford are TOXIC but whoever is behind this alongside the fake 401k posts are just strange. Makes you wonder what their plan is? Wtf does data is buried on the network mean? Also adding drain to your name is another nice touch. Why do you care about the money spent on the buildings with little hope for success? Based on the Jira talk, it doesn't sound like your business anyway. I feel like you're trying to mimic nomenclature to associate intentionally to paint a picture. Why? I have no idea, I just know it's no good. Kick rocks tho
