Trying to find any positivity at work has become more draining than the work itself, so I have stopped trying. Now I just cross off another day on the calendar each evening and remind myself how much closer I am to retirement. The people who make decisions here have made it clear that they do not value the people who have been here the longest, and I am done pretending otherwise.

If you are a boomer with institutional knowledge, keep your mouth shut and depart. Do not train. Do not transfer the knowledge. Do not do anything other than what is required from you. Your new manager will squeeze that out of you, do not fall for it. You are not a trainer. You do not get paid extra for it.
It’s market based and my market is lazy. Just trying to follow the rules.

It’s simple, punch the clock, do what they ask, go home. Treat it like a cr-p job you had in college and don’t think about it. It’s something you do to pay the bills. There is no career here. It’s a job. When they punch your card, via a layoff, move on. When you quit caring, they have no power over you. I’m here for the $$$. Be market based.
