The portal just opened and every manager I've talked to has no people changing. What a tu-d of a disappointment.

AI may not take our jobs immediately, but it seems like the end goal. Out of sight out of mind.
I’m in Springfield Illinois and I work in claims. I am set to be fully remote by June, as well as my entire department and there’s a ton of us across all 5 states. Any customer advocate I keep in touch with still is also being sent home full time. Seems like the Robbins office is closing completely, and rumor has it that liberty drive will be a training center along with Chicago. Every other office in IL will close.
While I am thrilled to work from home, I fear this is just the start of a huge chunk of us losing our jobs and being replaced by AI.
Rumor says HCSC is closing over 30 offices. And I could almost bet my life that all the money they are putting into the offices will go towards upgrading their programs to where AI can do a majority of the workload, leading to lay offs of at least half of us
@k0 please stop spreading misinformation. There are plenty of employees who are currently in HQ locations that have been informed they are moving to fully remote.
Another webinar earlier but this time someone from real estate actually answered questions about whether office X is closing with “yes”. Uncharacteristically plain language, I appreciate it.
@k0 this is false.
If you live within a radius of an HQ, you are mandated to 3 days per week in the office. If you live outside of the radius of the HQ, you are remote. That's the mystery business need. The radius to an HQ that determines one's fate is also a mystery.
@bt heard some qa already got told so i think will be most It. This is hq
@OP What dept are you in?
Manika seems to have clarified that every leader with a blank portal is not having anyone changing. So teams spread all over from IS will remain in office based on her email. Rolled out like a well oiled tu-d.
Can you expand on that? Announcing their plan for who in IT is moving or just that they're doing waves for whomever is impacted by the change? You know they never actually give us all the information at one time.
@bw - "Most of IT that I interact with (non-dev) has heard nothing or has been told they are not changing."
For IT/IS it was originally slated for Monday but now moved to Wednesday for releasing the announcement.
@af the portal is only open to people leaders.
Most of IT that I interact with (non-dev) has heard nothing or has been told they are not changing.
Is all of IT becoming remote or just the developers?
@a5 - "Well I’m going fully remote as of 04/27. Managers got the portal around 11am. Thats wave 1. Suppose to be 3 waves by the third quarter."
What dept are you in?
@as only if you’re in NBS, IT or Customer Service. Otherwise only impact is if you’re in a location change or closure - neither of which is impacting headquarters.
@ah it does impact HQ roles, this was announced last week.
It’s definitely is a show… it’s like they don’t even understand how their own company works. You have people in the exact same roles, one in office, and one going fully remote. There was absolute no reason to move NBS, IT or Customer Service fully remote. They could have moved those divisions, in impacted locations only (those closing offices) - just like they did everyone else.
The portal shows all impacted people for all 5 waves that will run through the 3rd quarter. Each level of mgmt. can see anyone under them that is impacted. People on a single team could have a different move/wave depending on their locations.
@a5 what is your role?
Will the people in wave 1 be let go first if there are layoffs?
@a5 what role?
I’m guessing this doesn’t apply to HQ/corporate roles?
What state are you located in?
What is the portal? Is this referring to org chart?
@aa what state are you in?
What exactly is the portal?
I am hearing a shot show with reports going remote but manager being asked to be in office. How does it even help?
@a9 My manager informed my team that the portal would show all waves
@a9 it showed nobody for me or anyone other manager I know
Is the portal showing impacted employees for all waves?
@a5 what is your role?
@a5 what location r u in
Well I’m going fully remote as of 04/27. Managers got the portal around 11am. Thats wave 1. Suppose to be 3 waves by the third quarter.
It's like they are trying to add guaranteed hypertension to the employee benefit package. You know, to offset the PTO losses.
What does that mean?
What a sh-t show
