It’s hard to think of how AD could have failed more at GC. The fact that she stayed in the role for so long is honestly surprising. GC probably would have done better with no leadership at all. And that’s exactly what GC will get from CS. She has no vision, takes no risks, makes no changes, and just ‘exists.’
She will do fine. She won’t fix Nike company wide issues, but with what she has she’ll do fine. And not everyone will hate her, some people will like her, just like now.

And I thought / hoped we would have a break from the CS threads for awhile…
Are failures really recognized as such at Nike? Senior leaders at Nike specially white women (sorry not sorry) fail forward and land on their feet. Even if she sc--ws up in GC and the bar is low, the truth will be packaged and TWISTED and made to look like a heroic effort and successful failure. Rarely do heads roll swiftly at Nike. Look at JD, HON and MD.
