Never take a demotion because you'll never get it back.
@aa My boss in 2023 prior to the Magenta Wedding is now my co-worker. He took demotion over a package. That came with a pay cut.
I know plenty of managers that rather be engineers again. Would be shocked if it was a salary reduction. Su-ks to lose the bonus but much less headaches.
