Nobody knows anything. I'm not saying layoffs aren't happening but seems to me nobody has solid proof of what's actually happening on the 20th, if anything at all.
All these news articles are saying same thing word for word and it's all taken straight from this website. They have no reliable source.

It's happening Dude, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Verizon is in decline, and it will be very difficult to turnaround with the same leadership teams.
Reuters and Wall Street journal posted that they got the info from a source. They would have made sure to vet that source before publishing, or they’d be putting themselves at risk.

Dan and Joe Russo both came out and said it- it’s a fact. Not the numbers per se but there WILL be layoffs.
Someone is also talking to Fox as well:
"The cuts, expected to begin as soon as next week, will primarily impact non-unionized positions across all segments of the company, a source familiar with the matter told FOX Business."
That's two inside sources from two reputable news outlets. It's real
several people here have posted the complete outline of what's happening. With dates, numbers, etc.
You can obviously discount that as rumors, but as a matter of fact - the two separate very detailed posts cover it pretty much to the dot.

Reuters says this:
", a person familiar with the matter told Reuters on Thursday, outlining some of the executive's first efforts to restructure in the face of rising competition."
Also Verizon is staying quiet, all but confirming it:
"A Verizon spokesperson declined to comment."
Everyone else is quoting Reuters. So they're the source of the layoff numbers.
