Any new information? Just seeing people vent (which is understandable). This is too big and widespread for nobody to know anything

We have remote workers in the Caribbean? Does Ellison know that?
so Tuesday and via email?
Senior management is saying Tuesday, where are all the Wednesday comments coming from?
Also heard it’s next Wednesday 10/29.
I got confirmation from a senior level executive that it will be Tuesday 10/28 not Wednesday. So guess we’ll see :-/
It's next Wednesday - 10/29.
Last year managers didn’t even know their direct reports were getting laid off til the day before. I truly don’t think middle management knows what’s going on.
@ax how far in advance do managers usually know if someone is safe from layoffs?
Once you tell your employee when it’s happening, next question is “am I fired”. No one wants to get into that sooner than they have to. If they’re not fired and you tell them, they may eventually go around telling other team members that they are not fired, which just leads the whole team back to you to tell them whether they are safe. If some manager just gives you a date but says they don’t know what’s happening on that date they are lying. Also some lists can change at the last minute and get longer. So you may think someone is safe and then they are not
@aa In the past it has been on Tuesdays.
The Caribbean remote workers are toast.
It will be on Wednesday, Oct 29th.
It’s happening tomorrow????
so wednesday and via email ?
I heard from my manager today that it'll be Wednesday.
The RTO email caught a bunch of people off guard. It wasn't a shock to have employees go back but very few people knew it was being sent out when it did. The new leadership is being very tight lipped and thats no surprise. I know of at least 1 team (although small) where all the employees took the buyout. It seems like no one has any real answers.
Anyone have confirmation if this is happening on Tuesday vs Wednesday?
I just want any update. This is so obnoxious and really speaks to the lack of empathy the leadership teams have.
