This elbows up nonsense is the lame mindset that bought into Imperial in the first place, like a cult, when everyone else was telling you they were a soulless corporation and one day the hammer would drop. Canada is weak and getting weaker. You don't have a leg to stand on.
The Canadians that have voted for this federal Government is to blame for this exodus. BTC came into play back in 2019, the Government that has pushed our industry out of the country came into power in 2014 and it has been downhill ever since then. If we were industry friendly the numbers mentioned in today's meeting would be a lot less than now. Exxon is moving to friendlier countries, and squeezing the most out of what they have in North America these days. Don't be surprised in any of this. Keep on with blaming the orange man and not voting for a party that is business friendly other than one that green washes everything it touches and this is what you end up with. Elbows up Canada
Check out the energy ministers recent post - definitely agree. XOM has been slowly getting rid of the Canadian work force. Getting rid of the Moncton BSC; many jobs in calgary outsourced, engineering moved out ! These are good paying jobs that belong here. Take the money but dont support the local economy?
Elbows up!. Canadians fall for all this nonsense. No regulator or legislator gives a cr#p about our predicament. Imperial outside counsel whets all such management and technical services agreements that largely EM is in the best position to provide cost-effectively. So, spend your energy elsewhere.
@ac 100% hold them to account. I have laid out some ways to do it. Pool your coworkers. Get the complaints to the regulators.
Search for the corporate separateness training package on the company network.
The regulators will have field day with that.
@a9 ,
Sure, we probably won’t get anything out of this mess. But letting it slide without speaking up? That just guarantees the next company pulls the same stunt, and the next generation inherits an even worse deal
Get wrecked; you probably voted for the party that supports and encourages this
Even better. Why not make an anonymous whistleblower complaint about the things exxon does to run Imperial for the benefit of Exxon and not the rest of the shareholders.
The SEC and OSC would have to look into it.
As shareholders there is the ability to make a class action lawsuit as well.
Do IT, Procurement, Payrolls, BTC and all the other Exxon provided functions go out to competitive bid to ensure Imperial pays fair rates?
Do they pay fair loans on their interest?
Is there true corporate separateness?
I think we all know the answer. Maybe let the regulators and courts look into it if you are angry.
Your representatives don’t give a sh-t
Thing is it is already to late. Imperial shut down its 100 year old research centre, so getting rid of sales and tech and planning is just another step to getting down to just refineries and oil producing assets.
Hahahaha good luck man
