Not a whine post, just keeping it informational. I just had an org activation touch base where it was communicated that everyone in GT will be expected to work in either PHK or ITC at the current Nike guidance of 4 days per week.

@bj braving icy roads, are you sh**ing me? Beaverton doesn't have incliment weather. If you think the roads can get much, it's time to learn how to drive.
It’s interesting how there were still local remotes that got impacted and out of state remotes that remained. Why did they do this if their main intention was to keep and RTO those that were local?
I can definitely say I always resented people who were able to work remote full-time, especially when I was stuck in traffic on the 26 or braving icy roads. Whatever the policy is, it’s critical that they enforce it in a uniform way. Allowing exceptions will lead to bitterness which the company hardly needs more of.
"All you GT folks have been cruising WFH"
I BET I'm exponentially more effective WFH than you are on-site. Your attitude pretty much confirms that.
The real reason you think remote users are cruising is because that's what you do on-site and what you would do at home, and you simply can't imagine how someone WFH would be effective.
Thats why you're the problem, not WFH.
My Sr. Dr gave a subtle hint that they won’t officially force RTO, but the way things are going, remote folks will be first on the chopping block
Details right now are vague, but I was told by our VP that in general, people close to WHQ are being expected to RTO "eventually". Timeline was not given due to logistical concerns.
@ak what org are you in?
I don’t know how many people they are making exceptions for. I only know 1 for a fact who has been working from the Atlanta office and was pulled aside separately and told that they can stay remote. GT
Confirmed from TB expectation to RTO once they work out the logistics, likely sometime in summer. I am within 50 miles of WHQ. Have teammates that are on the east coast, will be interesting to see what they hear. Could very well be keeping some remote roles but otherwise phasing them out, especially for those that can make it into the office.
I have been remote since I was hired during the time everyone was remote.
I was told the same, expectation to work from PHK, no immediate change but it’s otw. I have ADA to wfh so still waiting to hear if it applies to me.
@af not in our org in GT.
Exceptions are being proactively made. I assume those near WHQ, it is mandatory.
If this is real, and you are more than 50 miles from WHQ, strongly advise contacting an employment lawyer. Moving you from remote to in office is a role change procedure and is legally a layoff if the new role requires you to relocate.
I was told in my reorg meeting this morning that full remote is ending and VA wants everyone going to either WHQ or ITC to work. I have no idea if exceptions are being made for people who have always been remote.
This was not presented as optional with the option to take severance instead.
I am in the Portland metro area.
Hope this info helps
It's a blanket mandate for ALL of GT.
This is probably fake with how many people are reporting that they're still remote. Have a touchbase later today, will see.
Not in all. Must be a sub org statement
What were the details of the RTO mandate? Was it all remote employees or just the ones outside of the Portland/Beaverton area? Was there a severance package?
If that's the case why can't they just tell me already instead of leaving me to just wait around. I live across the country and have been remote my whole time here
This is true
@a8 I'm in Corporate Info Sec. and was hired as remote and still am
@a5 For those who were told they can stay remote, what org?
Good.
The rest of us were RTO’d years ago and have to work hard to stay at our desks making ourselves look busy. All you GT folks have been cruising WFH
So are they going to pay to move people that they hired as remote?
There’s people in GT who were told they can stay remote
I'm also in GT and I was just told the opposite, FYI
Were you offered a severance package if you don't take it?
What will severance look like for those who don't RTO?
