Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Something feels already decided

Serious question: does anyone else feel like we’re past the ‘planning’ phase and already in the ‘waiting for the shoe to drop’ phase?

Big leadership announcements, but no full org charts below first line, no clear direction, and oddly few real comms.

Feels familiar.

The Naysayer's are out tonite.

Many prefer it more honest, and real.

This place is not healthy for man or beast. Period. Never has been. Never will be. Time will tell.

Put your mind into gear and move on from this catastrophe. It’s not that hard.

@bc you forgot macro economy….he says it over and over again and then managers mimic it like parrots.

@as Can you share or do you know how much of Lexmark debt was driven by private equality (debt owed to the previous owners) vs. actual operating debt?

I'm sure SB has his flashcards out practicing for tomorrow "Headwinds! -flips card- Tariffs! -flips card- government uncertainty!!!!"

This is all by design. Has been for years. They're not coming up with plans every week. They're implementing the plan they've had for years, slowly over time.

Not a single move by Xerox is a reaction, it's all on purpose from the script.

People keep saying the Lexmark will do fine. But Lexmark has been sinking for a long time already, they are not profitable either. Seems people think they were doing well?

Until the ship stops taking on water?
That’s pretty hard when the ship is at the bottom of the abyss and deeper than you can dive.

Can you say voyage to the bottom of the sea? Call me Irwin Allen.

It for sure has already been decided with layoffs coming each quarter this year until the ship has stopped taking on water. Then the second part of the turn around can occur under Legacy Lexmark reinvention.

Feb May Oct and the 2nd week of each month is what people should look forward to for the notification deadlines to employees. Most people will know before hand if they are pay attention to the leafs on the trees but others will claim to be blindsided.

Oh it's definitely been decided. They've been doing multiple rounds of layoffs with more on the horizon. They're doing whatever they can to survive for as long as they can.

Many of us saw this a while ago - I know of several colleagues (myself included) who have been sticking around just to get paid while we job hunt. At this point all you can really do is cross your fingers and hope you survive in this mess long enough to find something new.

@OP Remember the "One Ship" mantra. Currently, there are two ships, Xerox and Lexmark, but one company. The SLT knows Xerox is sinking and people there are just hanging out to retire or out of morbid curiosity. Reinvention failed and there is no plan that will save the Xerox ship. Following "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence" adage, the chosen SLT members with transfer over to the Lexmark ship and let the Xerox ship slip under the water. Then they can return to the "One Ship" motto.

So, of course the shoe is going to drop. But you have had that feeling for a long time, haven't you?
