51 switch positions in the NorthEast are being forced into the union. Supposedly those people will have to bid for their current positions. This eliminates the need for current VZB techs to have to go to the switch locations for work.
Rumors have it that current VZB techs can bid on those positions as well, thus having those VZW techs to end up RIFd

@jj Essentially all switches in the Northeast minus NY which i believe is already Union I could be wrong but NJ PA i think DE, MA, CT those locations have to bid for their jobs according to the new contract
51 switch positions in the NorthEast ? where exactly..thanks
You can’t say it doesn’t make sense.
Asked this about a different role in which I, a management employee, would theoretically apply for a union job. It’s allowed, however, the recruiter advised that management employees are only introduced into the candidate pool if the job posting goes external. It is up to the local union as to whether tenure will be recognized as seniority, for vacation purposes only, or not at all.
@a7 just saying what they told us
@OP about time...whatever seniority the VzW techs have will be respected.
Unions don't " bid" for jobs..its all seniority
