Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Fusion Apps Sales - 1-2 reps per team

Lists released to managers today. Notifying impacted employees Mon/Tues. I cant speak for other groups within Oracle.

CSM roles will be responsible for renewals in FY27. Core will cease to exist as we know it.

@ve this is OP. I was saying core coming June 1. Safe for now. But I’m curious to see if they end up restructuring into some sort of AI assisted inside sales role for less viable accounts

Many ISE’s and SSE’s impacted today. Core seemingly untouched, potentially waiting for June 1?

@kj yea couldn't agree more with everything you said. Lots are young just promoted from SDR and looking to take on more responsibility.

Also curious what the sdr promotion path would be now...I don't see Oracle promoting 22 yr olds to an ISE....

@a6 I think this is more common sense… biggest unnecessary cost center at Oracle. Have a dedicated team for renewals? But not doing anything else? CSMs or primes could easily do this, and provide additional value.

This is not fault of those working in core organization. It’s a structural issue at Oracle and I feel for those teams

@kh @kh it used to be a respectable job, inside sales guys would actually prospect and try to close net new business. Now they just do renewals? It’s rather absurd. What an unnecessary cost center. OP is right. CSM or primes can easily do renewals…

Maybe core fundamentally shifts rather than getting totally eliminated/outsourced to Romania. Maybe they return to more of a net new selling model. But who knows? I’m curious what people think will come of that org. That’s the biggest unnecessary cost structure at Oracle the way it is currently set up.

This is no fault of the young professionals in that role. Oracle set them up to fail, and it’s sad. Because a lot of them are good kids. Just in a joke worthy organization.

@a5 yea writing has been on the wall for this change for the last like 2 years.. have been shrinking the orgs time and time again. No idea why anyone would stay in that role unless just promoted.

@a1 core sales no longer required, same with SEs, ASEs, xArchitects etc. All can be automated now that we are titrating away from the traditional LOBs. Time to change your line of work.

@cm you and everybody else on this site. No one knows anything for sure and if they do there is no way of verifying what is be said. This site is essentially a place to vent and feed the trolls.

SSE roles also going to be very much impacted - CX, HCM, and EPM overlays on the apps side. No insight into tech org.

What is the source that CORE is going to be affected?

@a1 Core will experience most significant changes June 1. Some changes Tuesday March 31. But if you’re in core, and not impacted next week, I’d highly suggest looking for a new role inside or outside of Oracle.

@a3 That’s outside of my purview. But I’d imagine standard 2-4 weeks + 1 week per year of service.
