  • Nothing like when a CEO calls people "dopes" and "dum dums"*

The board signed a contract with Bain to prepare the company for sale and try to secure a buyer in 2023. The typical model is Bain gets a bit of equity for such deals. Can't confirm the specifics of their contract with Avaya -- just that they were the firm of record to consolidate the company globally (and who ST was working with when she went on her world wide power trip to nowhere). It was Bain that the CEO has publicly criticized and blames for the reason Avaya hasn't sold (letting MSFT & others walk from talks).

The current market perception of Avaya is very unfortunate. I can understand the frustration related to the under-valuation. Sadly, this is the reality after countless years of over-valuation. You can only cry wolf a few times before you get eaten by the wolf because no one cares to help you anymore.

@OP

Interesting how this will play out. PD has touted the company was worth Billions, it is worth $500M. Not sure why Bain and Apollo drink the koolaid. Revenue is down 40%. Quite confident the excess cash is mostly burned by now. big parties, big conference expenses, big spending, turning the largest partner against them, canning loyal partners and employees.

A real CEO would have turned this around in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026.... The problem is simply poor leadership from the top down.

A bunch of loyal employees keep the machine churning and do their best.

Long answer I know, I know... The final stage is set, what is best for Bain and Apollo will dictate the exit. PD is just the Pinocchio puppet.

8/10 They will more likely file Chapter 11 AGAIN before liquidating. It's how PE legally steals. It's the MAGA way.
