I read this and was reminded of The Prince -

Rule number one of leadership: the blame is always on the leader. That's why I can say there is NO leadership at Ford. Just people receiving millions of dollars to deflect the blame and create excuses.

If managers cannot articulate a reasonable request. The blame lies with them. If the GSRs are not able to comply a reasonable request, the blame lies with whom HIRED them...

Answer: Never.

Present GSR will continue to be moved out as cheap and H1B labor will move into these positions. Also, design, engineering... will keep being transferred out of country.

It starts at the top and trickles all the way down to the supervisory level. There's an air of arrogance, and poor decisions are made on a daily basis.

Leadership with this kind of attitude here is why the company is struggling plain and simple. Shocking lack if awareness with this one. But provides an important reminder that this is probably the tone deaf manner in which leadership approaches things. Never take the blame, never accept responsibility. Check.

@ah you really need to lay off the dr-gs. Woodstock was not good to your brain. Because the lower ranks had nothing to do with the decision the BOD and senior management made. You noticed I did not use the term leadership. That is because the BOD and senior management have not demonstrated they are leaders. Sorry to put out your crack pipe. but you really need to wake up. BF & JF do did not split the rouge river nor can they walk on water. Sooner or later one of them hedge funds will wake-up and start dumping the stock. Look at Ford's dept!!!! They have to use company funds to pay dividends otherwise the stock tanks. Answer this question honestly... WHAT HAS JIM FARLEY OR BILL FORD REALLY DONE??? We already know Bill was fired by his own family in 06.

@ah how that is GSR problem, we do not have hybrids for masses, WA, OR, CA fup energy infrastructure, those are lucrative markets, and we can’t sell anything there, when kw will be .60 and gallon 8.00 , what they going to buy, exactly, Toyota

@ah G-I-G-O. Garbage-In, Garbage Out. This is especially true with executive decision making. You wanted lemmings, then don't complain when they jump off the cliff right after you do. You got what you paid for/ demanded, so quit whining.

I don’t believe this was a failure at the GSR level. The issue was decisions made at the top of the organization. The GSR teams can only execute within the direction and constraints they’re given, and they worked extremely hard trying to achieve goals that were unrealistic from the start.

Leadership chose to aggressively pursue EVs by following other OEMs rather than applying common-sense, phased thinking. A more balanced approach—easing into electrification through hybrids while infrastructure matured—would have been far more practical.

The responsibility for the unrealistic plans and outcomes rests with senior leadership, not the teams tasked with executing them. Accountability, including compensation and bonuses, should reflect that reality.

The truth is, the downstream working GSR levels did not deliver the plan as instructed to. Just look at the majority of the posts in this forum, the majority are critical of the Ford+ Plan. That tells us lack of effort on doing their duties supporting the plan's initiatives. It is no wonder that there will be an increase in performance reviews for 2025 not meeting objectives. This is not hard to see coming.

Only after they layoff the people who followed thier execution plan which failed. As if it was thier fault and the plan wasn't flawed. Redirect the responsibility from where it belongs - this is the only thing they are good at doing.

Wait for the 2025 executive comp reports to be released and ask again. 2024 below. If heads roll, those heads won’t be wearing crowns now will they?
