Doesn’t really matter if displaced employees are eligible or not. If you’re on notice you should expect to be effed on your bonus amount.

Not an attorney here, but understood what “discretionary” meant and saved $200K on law school.

The email clearly stated that if you were within your notice period on the date the bonus is paid, you are no longer eligible for it. So if the intent was that those displaced are still remaining eligible, that was completely lost in the message that they delivered.

Notice was Dec. 10. Final notice period day was Feb. 8. My boss was a helluva nice guy and gave me a full bonus.

Attorney here and current WF employee, the key word is “eligible,” as it doesn’t mean you are guaranteed one.

read further in the document it clearly states that if you are in notice period as the result of a displacement you are fine. the other is to put those of is on notice that if we resign before payment date and are subject to notice period we won't get our bonus.

@ab is correct....the language is very confusing but essentially the plan is unchanged for those displaced after 9/30. That is one of the exceptions to the new rule.

Haven't read the doc yet, but the email says if you're on a notice period during the payout date you don't get your bonus. If that's really the case, they're being extra sh*tty a$$holes. So if you get laid off in January, you miss on a bonus that was based on your performance THE YEAR BEFORE. F this company.

the info is clear and doesn't change from last year, just a little more simplified. if you are on a notice period as the result of being displaced then the only date that matters is Sept 30. if you are on notice period because you tendered your resignation then is has to be after the award payment date to qualify. note that they define award payment date as the date payment is initiated which is usually a couple days before the actual pay day thanks to early pay day and just standard ACH processing times. since we will receive bonus this year on Feb 13, don't put in your resignation until then to be safe, although you can probably get away with doing it on the 11th. again, if you have been severed and serving a working or non working notice period you qualify for bonus as long as you are on that notice period on/after Sept 30

This is about people that have submitted notice of voluntary departure. Remember when they started requiring people with certain corp titles to provide notice? That's the notice they mean here, not a downsizing/displacement type of notice.

To @a7's point:
Section V Biii says "Participants who received notice of displacement and are serving a notice period as result of that displacement on or after September 30 of the Performance Year, or on the Award Payment Date are are eligible and may be considered for an Award, subject to the other terms and conditions of the Plan."...

Why, Why, Why would HR send out that email that highlights information that appears leads to such confusion for anyone displaced? I can only imagine the storm of calls HR is going to get on this - I hope they send a clarifying email ASAP.

@a6 read below. Or read the plan section V, B.iii in the 2026 plan. Nothing really changed.

Email just sent by corporate communications:

"Eligibility requirements have been clarified to specify that employees must be actively employed and not serving a notice period on their payout date to receive an award".

Does that mean employees on the 60 day non-working leave on Feb 13 will not receive their bonus even though they are employees still???

It actually does not change in the 2026 plan. If you are still employed on 9/30/2026 you are eligible to get for the time you worked.

The 2025 plan doesn’t specify a date. The new verbiage in section V, B.iii clearly states it.

False,. if you are employed after sept 30 of the bonus year, you are eligible to receive bonus, which is paid in late jan or early feb. it doesn't matter whether you are on notice, severence or finished with both by the time the payout occurs

This is false. I revived my full bonus this year despite being on my severance period when it was paid.
