Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

ER/CM mass layoffs

Employee Relations and Conduct Management are getting laid off, not a Tuesday and just before the holidays. Multiple on each team are being pre selected for displacement in December. Thanks HellsFargo

@ag if a “tenured” isn’t making more than a new hire then I would question their usefulness.

Regardless, businesses that don’t have a healthy amount of turnover in the employee base suffer in the long run. And I mean this from the c-suite down. Innovation falls into the shadows, bad practices grow and become standards, etc. Wells is where it is exactly because we have had ultra low turnover for decades.

Complacency set in, we were stuck in a technological quagmire where lob’s setup fiefdoms to retain control and create importance where there is none. We are at a turning point and it will end great for those who survive and differently for others.

They outsourced leaves and accomodations management to MetLife. Headcount will decline in hR.

The advance notice is so affected employees can get work organized for those who remain. Elder care notified about a dozen employees a couple weeks ago that they were terminated in 30 days. Had to get transcripts ready before they left. Microsoft copilot is taking over their roles.

@aj it’s mostly conduct management being laid off, not so much ER. ER will still be in place.

I received my pre-notice today as well. After 20 years with the bank, I couldn’t be more pleased to leave this chaotic, toxic working environment. Leaders are put in positions and have no clue what they’re doing. This organization has gone downhill fast!

Nothing scarier than a talk with an ER consultant. Glad to see em go.

@a6

"tenured" aka older than what they want to have at WF... Some people say that the older employees make more money than all the 30-somethings being hired - I highly doubt that's true. WF has a history of very low/slow pay raises once they get you in the door (back in the day) and then paying new people more.

There's a section in chandler that I thought was conduct management. All the cubes are labeled as reserved for conduct management. Any time I've wandered down there it's completely empty.

@aa I was formally told that I will be laid off on December 9th. I don’t think that is standard practice, so not sure why they are doing it for this round.

This company has no need for employee relations.

Can confirm. My spouse got the call this morning shortly after logging online today. Seems to be targeted toward tenured employees.
