Not my wish, but I have other buddies in the industry that have been job hunting for more than 6 months. Not a lot of options out there for individuals with my same characteristics (gender/race/age).

Retire. Im blessed to be in a position to do that so I asked for it awhile back if it came along even though I passed on the vsp. I'm hoping to get it! I'm considered a "top performer" but I can't imagine not being selected. It hard, but it's time and I dont mind a few extra bucks out the door and hopefully save someone job whom needed it

@aa+1k9fhcc4d the health plan you have at the time of termination will be continued at no cost to you for the same number of weeks as your severance (which is capped at 35). You can then choose to pay for cobra yourself for a combined period of up to 18 months (but it's not cheap).
@a6+1k9fhcc4d short answer is NO, unless you've been around long enough that you still had the pension before it was frozen. You might still get basic landline for free if you have VZ service. Wireless discount was cut years ago and is pitiful. Take your 401k and run.
