Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

If you are told to relocate

Before taking a package and giving up your right to sue, Jason Hamilton said in his town hall that CSO alone has hired 60 people in Charlotte--a location that has never been on any hub list.

So any mention of too many locations or consolidation is just pure bbbbbBSsssss

They are also requiring some folks that were originally RTO assigned to Atlanta starting this year to move to Charlotte in 2026. @a6 is spot on.

I know several people that hired lawyers. T always settles... doesn't like bad press when it comes to just about anything and especially does not want court cases.

90k severance or $700 small claims… hmm…

Think I’ll take the severance and never look back.

Take AT&T to small claims court for $700 in damages. They won’t send a lawyer and you win by default and they will have to pay. How do I know? I work in accounting and we pay these all day long. They cut most of the legal department.

@a6 What you're trying to say is our CISO's financial services cybersecurity friends and their networks all live around Charlotte. Guess you could call that "evolving".

"I'd rather them pay me to leave this dump than pay a class action lawyer to wind up with $7.83"

That's better than the guarantee!

@aa Says the non-lawyer. When deep pockets are on the other side of the table, it is trivial to come up with an arguable basis for litigation. "They said it was to consolidate hubs, but statistics show it was actually race and age."

Imagine meeting with a lawyer on this basis......"So they claimed to have designated specific hubs. Then they decided to....."

There is no basis for a lawsuit. Business needs evolve and change over time.
