Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Apparently Kellyn Kenny is p_shed off about the Biz Insider article

Been going around that she is very upset that her saying that we should ignore the presence reports got out on the interwebs. I guess her freeeloader remark didn’t land well.

Funny, none of these people were all that upset when the company scr_wed with the lives and livelihoods of thousands of people with the RTO layoffs and relocations. Just business. Now they’re aghast when dirty laundry is aired in public.

If you don’t want leaks just treat people with decency and respect. It’s not all that hard

Oh the irony, you know, most parents don’t have to worry about their children calling the authorities. The ones who do belong in jail.

remember that message made it all about ‘collaboration’; it was only in the media that the layoff aspect was mentioned

But RTO was never about collaboration and seems even less so now. My group has people in 5 different locations and soon to be 6 and that's not even counting the people in India. And not all those are hub locations, yet I know many people who weren't in hubs that were let go.

It's never been about how much you know but what project you are on. And the rules differ from group to group. I don't know a single person who was let go for refusing to move who couldn't have done their job as well as those in my group who are remote from their L3.

I don't know why a company would need to keep anything it does or anything its officers say secret. More transparency is a good thing. Our leadership should be proud of the decisions they are making and their motives for doing so. If you have to hide any of that, you are up to no good. When you make 7 figures+ for a publicly traded company, I say f your privacy. No other employee has it, so neither should they.

My VP was all indignant and angry about the leak. When Stankey first announced RTO and move or get out two years ago - remember that message made it all about ‘collaboration’; it was only in the media that the layoff aspect was mentioned - this same VP said they could not have thought of batter way to explain the rationale. Funny what triggers these people.

Big kudos to whomever leaked it.

She's trying to play both sides of the fence.

"Oh don't worry about that anymore, we got rid of the major offenders, and that was the only goal..."

And I guarantee she was taken to task for sending that message, which of course deviates from the "ALL MISERABLE, ALL THE TIME" mandatory doctrine.

@a8 You make a good point about her honesty. That part of the point of someone leaking it. On the one hand we have Stankey’s id--tic actions and rants. On the other we have his leadership trying to clean up the mess their boss made. Signs of a well-run company, ha!

I actually gave props to Kellyn for calling it like it is, versus using the incessant word vomit style like the Stank.

As far as the blow-black of it getting traction outside of T, oh well. Can’t stand the heat/pressure, well that is what you get paid the big bucks for.
