Let this happen soon so we can actually start doing good work. My money is that 2027 will be the year that the strategy implodes.
@c0, Not necessarily. Some of us are way underpaid, and there are a lot of people on the business side who get paid a lot of money, not all of whom generate money, but the majority do.

Technology LOB at any bank is a scam. It's the first place they go to make cuts because 1) the salaries are usually higher than the business side and 2) none of the positions generate "revenue" for the bank -- the dirty little (secret?) in banking is that if there was no need for a Technology department to foster the Evil Empire there wouldn't be one; it's cheaper to pay humans in tech... one day - it won't be. Stay far far far away from any job in IT anywhere.

In my 20 years in tech, the cluster that we have is unbelieveable.
The only thing I've seen automation do is increase the number of issues to be troubleshot.
Technology is a total dumpster fire.
