Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

For all who rejoiced from yesterday...

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/white-house-scrambles-clear-h-002724934.html

All current H1b visa holders are safe including the ones who are entering the country with 2025 H1b cycle. The fees doesn't apply to renewals/transfers. It is one time fees per new petition, not an annual fees. The fees is legality is also questionable and will be contested in courts and likely be overturned. Someone asked me yesterday if I knew better than Trump and his cronies about the proclamation...so here is the proof. I knew better!

Enjoy...have a great weekend.

Everyone is laughing. This turn out to be nothing more than 100k TACO !!!

If not planning to apply this fees to existing H1b folks , why due date is 9/21 (tomorrow) as next lottery is in March only.

One side fake saying this is to protect American jobs but changed independent contractors and joint employer rule so all jobs can be moved offshore very easily.

One side fake H1b enforcement but other side Bondi advocating for h4 work permit. Basically political donors want cheap labor both the end. Don’t pay H1b enough so they struggle and flood with h4 open work permit so wage suppress even further.

This is not protecting American jobs. This is helping political donors. Everyone knows by now that 2026 is completely debacle for GOP/RINO/MAGA/ MAGARINO. Complete wipeout and that’s what by design as they want hunk government so nothing happen to their cheap labor immigration laws.

Everyone says whatever TACO did until now , it’s all temporary and can be changed with stick of pen on day one by next president. This is all by design. Why not passing Bernie Marino bill which put 25% tax on offshore and not tax deductible. Why not passing Jim’s bill which make H1b wages $150k and end to lottery.

JD used harsh words against H1b when running for senate but how come he did not propose even single bill against H1b after that?

These guys are no one’s. They just do politics to stay in power. Genuine H1bs’ are struggling for doing all right things. These corporate cheaters flooded system and increased backlog in such a way that only they get benefit of cheap labor. No one can live and raise family decently in USA and that is true for US citizens too.

What a shame.

You’re a bunch of stupid racists. You keep going down this path and the US will be a bigger version of North Korea, actually join forces with Russia, and make a play at some world domination bs. None of this ends well!

@b9 If multinational companies repatriate their work, they will also be forced to stop selling their products in international markets. Let US companies produce and sell only in the US. Let us see how much profits these companies will make, how much purchasing power the people in this country will have when they produce and sell their wares only in this country. This will not only apply to high tech industries, this will apply all consumer good and services, restaurants like McDonald's, KFC, P and G, Starbucks, GE etc. You are not the only one who has the leverage in this game.

@a5 bold stance, I am sure that you realize most people don't care about your views either. Globalization is collapsing rapidly and not just in the US. Read the news, anti immigration protests happen daily around the world. Even if you are a naturalized citizen that can be revoked. Multinational companies will be under greater pressure to repatriate their work within the guise of national security. We are still in the early stages of these changes so I expect more to happen and I expect an increase in severity but that is just my opinion.

@a6 Corporate greed got embedded into this country's DNA right when white man arrived here. You think America became what it is today by paying fair/living wages to workers? Modern America is the result of cheap labour starting from black slaves, Chinese who built the laborers, Irish who dug the canals, Central and South American people who work the farms and build the roads and if you say so (and I disagree with), cheap Indian IT labor. Offshoring of manufacturing, software Development, accounting services and now using AI is just the extension of the same. Why selective outrage on corporations now, especially with respect to H1B labor when corporate greed has been part and parcel of this country since the centuries?
Anyway, done arguing here.

@a5 This country is being destroyed by corporate greed wanting to hire low wage workers instead of Americans. But TACO signed a bill to pay high wages to H1Bs in his first term thinking companies will start hiring Americans. But this plan didn't work. And neither is the 100k plan which only helps F1 visa students get the H1B jobs.
Congress is helping destroy American jobs and has been doing it for decades with loose policies. However, now the competition isn't with H1B workers but with AI taking over jobs. Who will ask AI to leave the country or pay 100k? This is a big issue for all human jobs in all countries. Rich will get richer, the middle class will get poorer, and the poor will turn into criminals due to no jobs available for them (they don't want to do crime but they will be forced into this situation where they have no choice but to do crime). Life is about to get a lot lot lot more difficult for everyone as AI takes over jobs slowly and silently. This is the silent destroyer of human jobs.

@a3 I don't care what you think about my presence here. Of course this administration will not stop until it destroys this country.

@a2 The only ones that win with TACOs executive order are those college graduates on F1 foreign student visa. Now they have more H1B jobs available to them without the competition from India directly at a high salary (which Trump signed during his first term). This executive order does nothing for Americans and American college graduates looking for an American job.
TACO poll numbers are low and wanted to get some points by saying what Americans wanted to hear on TV only until the truth came out today. The White House is a TV show with nothing that really matters (to the American people) getting accomplished.

You may feel secure for the moment, but the intent is clear; your presence is not desired. And the administration is not done. God bless America.

It reduces the # of indians and chinese coming in going forward. One thing leads to another so this is a win for American employees
