Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Paranoid or out to get me?

Case management here. Had stand in sup review some time management issues with me, which I have corrected. A few days later I get told I'm being written up for poor audit proformance. The audit looked sketchy, was not in any format I've ever seen and made it look like I hadn't done 80% of my job, even though all documents where in place. I advised sup of this w proof of work and they looking into it. I've been here a while and come to terms that I might be part of layoffs one day and prepared mentally for it. I haven't prepared mentally for being fired out of the blue though. Anyone experiencing this or got any feedback? Thanks

Thanks for the input guys! My sup has been on vacay so things are still up in air of where this stands. I'm preparing physically and mentally for worst case scenario, getting my ducks in a row, resume updated and making my own paper trail. In the off chance it's a layoff vs fire and they do offer severance, what's that look like theses days? Is there a max?

You can’t even form coherent sentences so it’s probably time for you to go.

Just being realistic as a former (retired) Centene Senior Director this means you are already marked. Once an employee is on a PIP or Plan, this means you are on your way out. If your behavior has been mentioned, and called out for it, they are basically doing this the HR legal way to separate you.

I have noticed an increased emphasis on "metrics" and "audits" and micromanaging, not that that wasn't always a problem. Something is up for sure.

This happened to me and 4 other people I know of before layoff! In 3 separate departments and 3 different markets. Please beware! Just my advice but dust off that resume and start searching for your next job! I hate that this is happening to you but keep your head on a swivel and protect yourself by documenting everything you do and save every correspondence.

@a5 That's only if nepotism is involved or you're an offshore vendor, contractor, or HB1, then they don't care because you're cheaper labor. The company will absolutely go to great lengths to find "something" wrong with your performance if you're an FTE and fire you over it to avoid offering severance, paying out unemployment, or any discrimination lawsuits. It's all to cover their a-s and justify the real reason, which is the mismanagement of the company as a whole, and to keep the CSuite and shareholders' pockets fat - at your expense, I might add.

Based on what you said, you are indeed marked for liquidation. This has the classic hallmark of 'building a case' against you. At this point, you may find yourself suddenly thrown through the door. Especially if the response to your proof changes nothing and they proceed with the write up, or come up with a different reason for a write up.

It’s pretty difficult to get fired based off performance.
