Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

So much inventory on display @Marshall’s

This is random... but... Honestly, feels pretty bad. So much brand decay, not good.

nike was never "luxury" it was just a "premium" brand with artificial scarcity.

@eg We? Who’s We? You’re not part of the club like most Nike folks unless of course you are a member of the chosen people in which case fu-k you

Well done indeed. While focusing on everything except quality sport apparel for the past decade, Nike managed to become the AOL of the footwear industry.

hey @a3 - "Luxury products"??? We are in a mass retail world, we sell to billions of people - how can a $100 or $300 pair of shoes be luxury when there are dozens of brands selling functionally identical product but charging 10x of what we are charging? We have an awesome brand that means a lot to a lot of people but I've never came across anyone calling our products 'luxury'. Semantics matter.

@a3 the sound of an elitist dou--ebag like the majority of Nike managers and above.

Costco is not a discount store. It targets upper middle class buyers.

Seeing Nike at Costco is a sign of desperation. Luxury products should never be at discount stores.

Hopefully Nike climbs out of the deep hole they dug themselves into
