Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Any experience of UK RIF with under two years service?

I suspect it's just notice with no severance payout, but does anyone have experience of this?

@dz the person below literally said they've seen values of up to 80K. So although 21.5k is statuary, it seems Oracle do more in the UK.

@d9 21.5k is the statutory maximum as per UK laws, there is also PILON od 3 months notice and unpaid leave.... Oracle in Sept 2025 had to pay 15 days for every year in India which was statutory minimum but paid 1 month for every year.. so Oracle will usually pay enhanced pay is what i think ... 21.5k is statutory max like i told before ... i would like to know what has been historical Severance paid in Oracle UK!

@d9 21.5k? Where did that come from?

@by The UK severance pay is capped at £21.5k any thing on top will be discretionary - a deal between you and Oracle - most will not get any extra unless you are a bigwig and have knowledge that can damage them - doesn't depend on how long you've worked for them

@av yes, I agree. I think commissions are all paid if deal closes whilst you’re still in post. Problem would be if they offer the lump sum payment in place of the consultation period so employees could be RIF’d in march, take April as a notice period and then be out of org for May, therefore no comms for end of FY business. I think that happened to the CX org a few years ago but that was at the half year not Q4. I personally think they’ll want to thin out sales teams and reduce commission payments so will try and cut ASAP but that is just my opinion, nothing to back that up. My org is very toxic at the moment, though. I’ve never known it like this and I have a few years of experience here

@a5 check your contract and see what it says..It should say what notice period Oracle (and you) need to give. Generally if you close a deal you are entitled to the commissions even if they Rif you before the payroll run. I've never heard of someone not getting paid their commissions... thats a great way for them to end up in court. In the past few Rif's they have given folks a month to find another job within Oracle and then you get your notice period plus Severance. Good luck!

@a5

Wow, over 80k pounds for severance? I got about 1/3 of that amount for over 25 years of service in the US. That would almost make it worth living in the UK. ALMOST

UK packages previously have been a month for every year + additional lump sums. Sometimes it reflects leaving quickly so 30k to accept severance and leave with 30 days as an example. I’ve seen numbers from 80-120k GBP for IC3/4 but they generally had a little over two years.

I’m in UK and wondering on timings. I have a big q4 and don’t know whether comm payout or severance might come first. Happy either way at this point. Could we really know next week?

No. But we have employment laws here in the UK - there will be severance pay.
