@aa they bought that award. Same with the Forbes one.

@b2 How do you know that it is the standard severance package? Just curious.
Everyone, HCSC is NOT-for profit. Theres a huge difference here, non-profit companies are 501c3.
@da google it. The WARN act does impact nonprofits and mutually owned companies like HCSC. However, it is actually unlikely that the layoffs HCSC is doing actually qualify for the WARN act. The rumor is that HCSC is letting go of about 500 people. If so it will not qualify for the min % of the workforce because that is about 1/60th of the total workforce and, assuming it is spread out to multiple locations it will not trigger the 500+ let go for a single location to qualify for the WARN act.
@a4 Non profits like HCSC are not subject to the Warn Act. It does not apply to us. At all. Ever.
All of these posts about Warn Act compliance are 100% wrong.
It’s the standard severance package. 2 weeks of pay + benefits for every full year you’ve been with the company. I’ve heard rumors of a lump sum amount in addition to the standard pay as well.
@ap Because no one knows yet. I had friends let go that said they’ve not been told a single thing other than “Your role has been eliminated” and “You’ll hear from someone by the end of the week” with more information.
Why is no one describing the severance?
@a3 you can try any negotiate anything you like, but you’re gonna need some leverage for them to offer you any more than the standard. Tell them you know where the bodies are buried and will tell the World’s Most Ethical Companies people all the dirt, that should get their attention.
@a3 How many weeks of pay did you get per year of service? TY
@a4 Read the Warn Act, it does not apply because of % of workforce.
@a3 I'll just shoot a message over to ask HR.... let you know what they come back with.
@a3 the warn act requires 60 days notice before layoffs or closure for employers of 100+. You’re entitled to back pay and contractual obligations. Start with the warn act and expand to state protections. Don’t stop until you get paid
@a2 can we even negotiate the severance? I was told no and I would really like to since they are taking away 9 months of my hard earned bonus. If someone can please let me know that would be great?
@OP the package is whatever your wrongful termination lawyer can negotiate
