Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Is Automation being set up for a slow decline?

With the corporate split, two major parts of HON that have high barriers to entry are now their own companies. It seems all Automation wants to talk about is software, AI, software, AI, software, AI, which any startup can also sell in. Is the “innovating by powerpoint” finally going to come home to roost, no longer able to hide in the conglomerate?

Don’t be discouraged. Now UOP, with it’s amazing suite of new (batteries, membranes) and old (platforming, catalysts) proprietary technologies, is going to do wonders for the Automation group. VK in following Elliott’s demand to split up, deserves a Nobel prize in unlocking Automation’s value.

Slow decline or a rather quick fall, time will tell.
Another path is to further the split into smaller pieces, selling them off.
VK seems to believe he will be allowed to lead a separate automation arm but he is always delusional and clueless.
My bet is automation would experience a rather quick fall after July.

@a2 that sounds like an excuse for years of underperforming the market to me

Global macro drives the business. Period.
