Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Do yourself a favor and get out of telecom altogether.

The modern cell phone industry is over 40 years old and far past the market saturation phase. It's a capital intensive business that promises nothing more than repeated bo-m-bust cycles and dead end careers. Get out while you can before you find yourself considered "too old" to switch industries.

@OP The only thing good at AT&T is their ability to lay off people without calling it a layoff. They force their employees to move to a hub location, if you live more than 50 miles from one of the locations and refuse to relocate you must leave the company but at least on the high end you get 6 months' pay. You were not laid off you resigned. In 2022 they changed their retirement benefits, if you did not leave you lost your health coverage. I believe they reduced headcount by over 20K that year.

T is about to have a BIG cut larger than Vz. Word on the street is over 20k.

Tmo is your best bet, but you better know somebody or your chances are slim at best.
