Now we all know our executives are extremely incompetent, everyone knows that.
An underrated part of how incompetent they are, is the “modernization” effort to transition from on prem to being Microsoft’s bi--h on Azure’s pricing leash.
Now you see, Jensen Huang, Meta, innovative companies, buying and building these data centers,
We sold our house in 2009 after the crash, people won’t think about it now, but data centers are only increasing in value, and we sold at rock bottom as always.

T thought that Cloud was the way to go. Cloud is for small and medium businesses, not for Unfortune 100 broken companies. The stranglehold MSFT has on us is once again as laughable as the stranglehold TechM has on us.
We have become nothing by design but most younger employees just don’t know it yet.
If you’ve been around for any real length of time you know that we have evolved into one big gigantic money laundering pipeline. We produce nothing. We invent nothing. We create nothing. We retire nothing. We are nothing. All we do is beg, borrow and steal money and $hit it out onto wheel barrows sitting at the back door. The cash is carted away and distributed in a thinly veiled bogus business transaction, all in plain sight.
While strategic investment in technology and human capital is delayed, billions were swiftly funneled into assets that lost value as fast as they're acquired. Instead of burning through billions, that capital could have been used to future-proof the infrastructure by converting data centers/central offices into hyperscale powerhouses.
If tech were a party, AT&T leadership shows up just as everyone’s leaving. Vision? None. Just a radar for anything that spits out quick cash.
They know we have them in our crosshairs. Keep up the pressure on them. They are going down.
OP, you may be wrong on your assessment. Somehow, after all the fumbling and bumbling over recent years, the SLT keeps getting larger bonuses and pay. Why would that be happening IF the board does not think they are operating exactly as designed?
“ This company has to perform emergency call outs once a day just for a technician to deploy a fan on a server to help it from melting and causing a national outage.“
Anyone that has worked in network knows this is 100% accurate. Certainly true in the MTSOs on the Mobility side.
@a2 I know as well, it’s gross incompetence at every level
Central offices are not data centers.
The infrastructure must be completely updated to allow it to support any data center equipment.
More power, more cooling.

Ask me how I know.
