Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Our reputation is gone

Long gone are the days when people dreamed of working at Intel. Now we can’t even attract mediocre employees, and the top talent is avoiding us in wide berths. I fear this kind of loss of reputation is irreparable and we’ll be feeling it for a long time to come.

Intels reputation was very bad for a long time. Sc--wed over everyone they possibly could and especially the end user and employees.

It's been gone for a long long time.

Please see the stupidity around 10nm node.

Why do you think it's so hard to get callbacks on your resumes?

@bq no. It's not the worker's fault for having lots of flexibility. The issue is ELT hired people without any plan, now they are firing. real talent left a long ago now all PowerPoint engineers remain. To compete with Asian companies you need to innovate which Intel is not doing anymore.

Welp. Intel shouldn't have made the job so unsustainable, and abusable. All those sabbaticals and medical leaves, bonuses, recognition cards, raises... The way they used to have all those sh---y buffet style lunches that no one appreciated. He-l up until 2 years ago I had never even had to submit a time card or clock in and out. We all took 5 hours of breaks a day.

Sorry but that's what people enjoyed about the job and it was all very unsustainable. Now that a lot of that is gone, sure it's not that desirable anymore.

Intel has needed to change its reputation for a long time. These are the reasons it's getting its a-s beat by these asian companies. It could have been an amazing work place if either the workers had some integrity or they held people accountable but NEITHER of those things happens until it was too late. Sorry but the workers brought this upon them selves feel free to down vote me. He-l I've even been guilty of all these things.

New graduates and true engineers should not join Intel. Working with MBA, talkers and cheaters will be a disaster for anyone.

Only the cheaters and talkers survive in Intel.

This company has hired too many incompetent people over the years and let them be in charge. I am surprised it has survived this long. I worked with too many junior to mid-level folks disguised as PEs, Sr.PEs, Directors, Managers that I will not be one bit surprised when it closes shop
