I was so burnt out I dreaded coming into the office every day. Today, I got laid off and it feels like winning the lottery. I know finding a new job might be tough, but this was long overdue. It’s better for both me and Wells Fargo that we part ways. Sometimes the push you didn’t ask for is the one you needed.

@OP agree my high blood pressure went way down after being laid off. Management is the problem!
@a5 Everything except 401k stays the same through severance, unless state laws dictate a change. For example, some states end your employer healthcare on your last day and other states end it on the last day of the month.
Congrats good to know there is life after wells. Ignore any hate you get here..
Small favor to ask… whoever’s last out please remember to turn off the lights and the dilapidated systems.

@b4 if you went through this last year at Wells and it was so horrible why are you still trolling the lay off page for Wells? Move on if it was so horrible. Why keep commenting about how it was for you. It’s over go to your current employers page.

Congratulations - I went through this last year and I can't begin to tell you how much better my life is now without the constant stress and toxic environment that WF turned into. Sadly it was very good for years, but the past few years have just been an endurance test. Good luck in finding a new job.
@a5 I've determined that getting the optional term life through Wells benefits is not the wise choice. For younger people, shop for your own teme life.
I messed up and didn't. Now, every year the costs go up due to being older. If I would have locked in a 30 year term life 10-15 years ago, I'd probably be saving $500/year easily.
@a2 Did you have optional term life insurance with Metlife and what happened to that after you were displaced? Unlike medical insurance I believe term life doesn't continue through severance. Were the new rates that Metlife offered reasonable?
Glad to hear your OK with it. That's how I felt when it happened to me. Everyone's story is unique. Good luck. I found a job, that timed perfectly with my exit, got my severance and never had to apply for unemployment.
For those that wonder why I still watch this board, I try to help out folks who get incorrect info. I still have friends from my old team and the bad info they still get about layoffs is amazing.
Welcome to the club. Plenty of highs and lows ahead but in each you will see more daylight now not being in that meat grinder every day.
