Productivity tracker

I have not seen a post about the new productivity tracker going on. The first meet had most all principle engineers up and worried as they were told last year to start using AI, create tickets and push releases. After 4 months, they are most categorized as low value to the company. Only few senior engineers had records of commits and massive of features pushed to production.

It's just a say do process. Say we are doing this, assign it to a person, assign to a secondary, do what the ticket says, push the code and close, and repeat.

I am not surprised those principle engineers can even write down what they're going to do or want to do

@a1 Says every wannabe pretender without a degree and training in engineering.

It all looks easy until you get to the hard part you don't even have the mental capacity to understand.

Now, if we could just stop promoting people from marketing with liberal arts degrees to engineering management, we could start getting somewhere again.

Once someone with a brain in charge figures out Claude makes writing code a cheap commodity that can be desktop configurable, and all these internal jobs handoffs could be automated and built into the systems cheaply now. Woof

@a1 who are you speaking for? Surely the Sr/Dir/AD cadres with 1-4 reports bring the greatest, tremendous, and beautiful value to the company.

We tend to forget that those ADs used to be just managers but they were given a title bump a few years ago. Their responsibilities used to be on par with a glorified team leader.

“Engineers” are the least valuable
In the company today. Most engineers are nothing but clerks. They know nothing about the infrastructure, plant or have the experience of the old real engineers of actually once doing the jobs they are engineering. AI certainly can’t do a worse than these posers pretending to be engineers.
