My department, PLM, announced voluntary layoffs are coming. Sounded like it might be in waves but not 100% sure. They said other areas across the enterprise will be doing the same as well. Anyone else hear anything?

Looks like associate level work is being sold off to offshoring across some claims and of course underwriting. Underwriting likely has 5 years left before 75% of the roles are gone, of those 25% remaining they will replace with BPOs in some 3rd world country.
Id expect moving forward for State Farm to follow Allstate, which this was sorta disastrous but none the less gotta follow our competitors to the bottom right!
Not sure what the long term vision for the company is, but its looking like a bunch of executives supported by under paid 3rd worlders and AI is the vision.
Hope our customers love thick accents, AI, and low quality. Motto needs to change from the whole good neighbor to distant associate.
No layoffs in innovation. We are growing apparently.
im in infosec and we are being told no layoffs in our dept. but most of our leadership is just stupid. VPs are out of touch and dont care about anything but there careers. the good people are leaving and everyone walks on eggshells to make leadership happ. Our directors are a joke most dont know anything. im looking and as soon as i find something im outta here.
Oh yes pretty much anything is underwriting is done. I hope that is not news to anyone in Auto U/W as you would have to be living under a rock. Most of you have about 12-16 months left before it is either automated or out-sourced to Everise. Do not go to claims as it is the worst possible torture sh-t hole you can imagine. Take the money and leave this insane asylum called State Farm. This place is the worse of the worst. The people running SF are literally mentally retar-ed! Trash just pure trash! 2040 only makes something bad even worse.
