Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

June 1st

Our VP scheduled a 15 minute meeting today regarding an "organizational update." Has anyone else had similar meetings or received any news today? Curious whether this is part of broader organizational changes or if there may be another round of layoffs occurring. Any insight would be appreciated.

@at The update is that the VP is leaving, and updates about future restructuring are coming. We were told good luck with Mission Simplify…

Guess we're safe for another 24 hours...

“Culture” was the 2024–2025 message: retention, people-first, stability. In 2026, it is “Mission Simplify.”

In practice, this is less like simplification and more like repeated workforce reductions in smaller waves. Outwardly, EPS stays strong, margins improve, and the financial story works. Never mind that it’s all smoke and mirrors.

The human impact is just packaged differently now.

Well it would be interesting if a VP hold a meeting to be human and give the people below them a heads up on whether or not layoffs are coming & who is on the list.....Never will happen. These meetings are usually because they are bringing someone new into the department that is a manger or above or creating a whole new department that they most likely don't need (which is an indicator that they will be moving/laying off people under leadership). BUT THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU YOU ARE BEING LAID OFF

OP, I hope you update us on the outcome. I believe layoffs typically happens in the mornings, so hopefully if it's set for the afternoon you guys are ok... at least for today. Good luck.
