Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Charlotte Office Filthy

Can we not do better here? If you want people in the office, maybe push a vacuum or dust once in a while? Office is so filthy we itch when we come in, cups and coffee are few and far between. No working water dispensers in any floor currently. Reserve space covered in grease from prior persons lunch…Thanks USBank for return to office bacterial frappe :(

That happened in the Hinsdale Illinois office. Took a month to get it fixed in the heat of summer because no one would approve the budget to fix it.

Horsham's HVAC system was down for a week towards the end of April. Good thing there wasn't a heat wave or deep cold snap I guess.

@b9 I'm pretty sure you can book a flex office or a conference room for that. They're required to allow you the time to pray, but they're not required to give you your own special space for it.

@b6 the hub I'm in still has the same coffee stained cubes from the 1990s, stained walls, obvious water damage they've painted over, and bed bugs in conference rooms. I'm sure the place is full of mold.

When I was at the bank there was a leaking roof and you could hear mice running in the ceiling all day. Only after leaving the dump for a different company (run by an actually civilized managing committee) did I realize what a pile of filth us bank was.

For religious people like Muslims, we don’t have rooms to pray at our hub.

When I asked that atleast coffee should be free in office my manager told the company cannt spend millions on coffee. We had toilet repairs for months same with break room sinks always under repair. With no cafeteria and no lunch breaks people eat on their desk and whole floor smells of curry and fish. I think we should carry our own odor neutralizer also.

The “upgraded” and “new” desks and equipment we got in my hub were actually the from another hub location that had theirs all replaced. They pitched it like it was a perk for RTO but we were just given used scraps from another hub.

@ay If that's true, call OSHA or the state equivalent.

Filthy is the default across most sites. Stained, fraying carpets that are literally coming apart at their seams, stains on the walls, stains in the bathrooms, stains on the ceiling tiles, light fixtures falling out of the ceilings, faucets and toilets leaking, dust everywhere but especially the vents, black mold, roof leaks, bed bugs, mice, you name it, absolutely disgusting.

The maintenance company for plaza told me directly that they only empty trash 2x per week, it's constantly overflowing and I'm sure there are mice. They vacuum once per week. The office smells like mold and I wouldn't touch that water machine or coffee maker, there's no way those filters are changed. We have to beg for soap. Coming to the office isn't the problem. The office dump is the problem.

In my location, we don't even have soap or paper towels in the kitchen. The sink is constantly backed up and smells horrible, like a festering garbage dump. Someone spilled coffee on the wall near the badge swipe LAST YEAR and it still hasn't been cleaned. At least we have running water in the bathroom and usually (but not always) have soap and paper towels in there.

The Gresham location in Oregon is a dump. Looks like a prison. Smells bad. Loud. Call center cubes. Dirty. Terrible location. You would not want a customer to ever see it.

@a2 coffee is not good for you. The Bank just wants it's employees to be healthy.

You guys have a water dispensers???!! Wow, living the high life, ain’t you with your fancy water dispenser.

We don’t have one in our hub or at least not on my floor.
Obviously we don’t have coffee or tea.

Only luxury we have is a coffee machine, but you need to bring your own coffee.

What a great working environment

One of the senior executive VP did say on a call that people shouldn’t be allowed to work comfortably at home while other habe to work in office….basically he was saying we should all suffer working in office, without saying it

All of these items, while possibly beneficial to some workers, represent an ongoing organizational expense. Those have a nasty habit of reducing executive compensation.

So, the tough decision had to be made. Most areas will be cleaned and maintained by the employee base, at their own time and expense.

Consider it a small contribution in keeping our wonderful shared facilities functional, neat, and tidy. Very small, in consideration of what US Bank has done, and continues to do, for the employee base.

@a9 Some places in plaza smell like a ruptured sewer line today as well.

Plaza hub is just as bad. Garbage isn’t even taken out for a few days, they are definitely not vacuuming and on top of that the elevators are constantly down or broken.

The environment doesn’t work for working moms. They don’t take care of mother’s room for nursing. Also, no toilet paper, soap, etc. They don’t take trash out or clean the fridge either.

@OP Chicago is absolutely disgusting. Only 2 garbage cans to a floor! The bathrooms are dirty. Paper towel dispensers are empty. I doubt the water filters have been changed post covid. Someone spilled coffee near the ladies room. It hasn’t been cleaned up and has started to smell. Don’t even get me started on the kitchen.

100% agree!
No cups, coffee, tea , Kleenex, office supplies, Clorox wipes nor hand sanitizers at my hub.
I bring everything from home, including Clorox wipes to clean down my work station daily.

If you have coffee you are already living the life of luxury for this company
