Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

LinkedIn is so cringe nowadays

My entire feed, a-s kissing, self promotion, etc...

  • Humbled and honored to share that I’ve been recognized as a thought leader
  • Grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such an incredible, high-performing team
  • Still pinching myself after this amazing milestone - none of this would be possible without John Doe

LinkedIn is in need of a "f-off" button when such fake a-holes try to connect: Hate to only have ignoring the request as a viable option.

@gh this was posted by one of the Verizon HR superstar game changing thought leaders a year ago just after VSP and before the biggest layoff in history and organizational chaos. 🤔

“We set out to create an employer brand that captures our employees as they are—authentic, vibrant, and full of passion. We wanted to share with the world through the voice of our employees that when you join Verizon, you’re joining something truly special.

Never could we have imagined the power of a prop… but there is something so special about our red chair.

It provides a glimpse into how the people that power Verizon light up with pride for their work. And it has become a powerful symbol of the V Team Life.

It's only been a year since we launched and we’ve already had over 2,000 employees take a seat in the red chair to tell their V Team Life story - some of them waiting in line for hours! I could not be more proud of the work my team has done to bring our culture and brand to life. (And I never imagined we would have so many red chairs floating around our offices across the world!)

And we’re just getting started. If you’ve seen these red chair photos popping up in your LinkedIn feed, you know just how bright our V Team shines.

@dg I would vomit. but thats how people survive. you have to kiss as--s. one of my former colleague would get excited and clap whenever my boss walks in. if she had a red carpet she would roll it out. its over the top. but thats how you survive

The people that post this cr-p deserve what AI has instore for them. The lazy AI dependent will not survive the long term. The plumbers, electricians, welders, carpenters etc... will own your foreclosed homes and repossessed cars in just a few short years. Ironic!

Don’t forget Post It Lady we are blessed to have our leader. She has made all of us feel that it is all about people. Hard decisions are to help those who remain because of easy decision. Hope you all can feel and do great today.

That is the power of AI generated LinkedIn post, They would look amazing at first but loses its originality very quickly.

The worst is the passion about the work. Are there really people that are obsessed with work this much?

The fact nobody has created a competitor to LinkedIn is baffling. Everybody, literally everybody HATES LinkedIn. It’s honestly gross how self absorbed and fake it has become. There needs to be a competitor that prohibits uploading pictures and prohibits humble bragging. You should only be able to display a profile and send dms to connect. Thats all you need.

My kid fell off his bike and got back up and it inspired me to write a LinkedIn post about powering through adversity. I’m honored and humbled to share my key critical insights that are eye opening and inspirational and completely original. Yay team!
