Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Exhausted

I got home from work the other day, laid down on the floor… felt 100 pct worn out…

My wife looks at me and says, why r u so tired? You were just sitting at a desk for 8 hrs…

Some people do not understand that desk jobs can be exhausting too. It is not just sitting. It is nonstop meetings, phone calls, dealing with different people, navigating sh-t personalities, handling stress, and making decisions all day.

By the end of it, my brain is done. If one more person asks me to do something, I might lose it.

Please tell me I am not the only one.

@ab I totally agree. I am so tired of people complaining when they really don’t know how good they have it at least for now while they have their job…. if they lose their job, they’re going to be wishing they were back, having to deal with all those difficult people and days at work.

Be careful what you wish for…

My desk job did that to me. I was so exhausted working at Wells, I would leave and not be able to stay awake. I think it's the high stress environment that causes fatigue.
Since I've been gone from Wells, my stress and sleep habits have improved. I have been able to get off of blood pressure and anxiety meds. I know we need to pay bills, feed our families, but when the job affects health, it's not worth it. I feel so bad for the people on this board because it's not complaining, it's getting sh*t off your chest.

Yes, women do refer to 'work husband'. Heard it far more often than 'work wife'.

@b8

Stop using the term, "work wife".

It's demeaning, and disrespectful toward women.

You never hear a female referring to any of her male coworkers as being her, "work husband". Wanna know why? Because it's D-MB.

I got another job and let me tell you, it's still tiring, but it's SO much better. With that said, even the folks at this new place say the pressure has been cranked up the past few years.

Even still, Wells Fargo is S tier toxic. The pressure at this place is like WF pressure circa 2015 and earlier.

Stressful for me that the work wife that sat just 15 foot away from my desk never would be okay with going to a conference room to chat. Even if about work.
You see each other everyday passing in the halls only exchanging a quick hello.
When you're working can't even focus on work all that much as you're secretly hoping they'd come by and see how your day was going or a quick teams message.

I know I lived and breathed it. That's why I was always tired and exhausted. Seemed to spend my days scheming lol.

As someone who has done physical labor in the past I can say unequivocally sitting at a desk is infinitely less tiresome. Can it be more stressful? Sure but people go to college to get nice cushy jobs where they sit at a desk, not so they can go dig ditches.

Maybe try to move around more. Drink more water. If you’re a coffee or soda drinker, cut your consumption way down. What are your eating habits at work? Try little healthy meals vs a large lunch. Get up and move as much as possible. It should help. As far as being mentally exhausted? Maybe schedule some breaks where you doodle or read a book for 10 minutes. Or take a walk around the block and don’t think about work.
