Why is it everyday we are instructed to lie about what we do? Manager and GM both tell me to Customer Exception cars in my work order reporting today and blame the customer for cars not getting spotted because we didn't have crews to pull the unit train that was blocking the industry. I question it and get told do it so they don't take "hits" on ISP numbers and that Failure to Comply is an option. So I have to lie and potentially get fired or not lie and potentially get fired.

Honesty builds trust with customers and partners, essential for long term success. Treating employees fairly and justly reflects God’s love, and promotes a positive work environment. Engaging is dishonest practices can harm one’s character, integrity, and their relationship to God. Honesty is not just a moral choice, but a reflection of one’s faith and character.
God hates lying. Proverbs 6:17

Lying generally turns a much better profit for the company. Just ask Vena personally. PSR failed at other railroads before coming to the UP, Vena lied continously to the UP shareholders about how it was all about efficiency. The government hearings that the UP was barbecued at wasn't at all about efficiency! Vena came back after having Fritz removed and he's still lying about how efficient the UP is. The equipment is falling apart very fast and the larger shops aren't fixing a dam thing. They're closing defects without actually fixing anything to make their numbers look better. Most shops are actually doing that now. It's all about the numbers and the lower management levels are finding every way they can to fake those numbers to please their superiors, so that Vean can continue to lie to the shareholders and himself about how good the UP is. It's really not that complicated to understand at this point.
Don’t you dare expose our overtime fraud schemes. I love milking the company and the shareholders out of free money while sitting at the house. If you’re not doing the overtime fraud maybe you should join the club so you won’t be so bitter. UNION
I would report it to values line if I’m being asked to lie on numbers.
Because lying is profitable. Also because lying keeps the FRA away. And recently if the FRA gets a little suspicious and shows up to look at something, they are ran off property.
Lying about how good for America and the UP/NS employees a “merger” (buyout) is for everyone. And don’t forget “Jobs for Life”.
That's UP Managers way, they don't have to follow the rules and all the ethics that the actual workers have to follow.
