Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Lack of info

There is nothing that can be done now. The one thing that bothers me to no end at all these extensions recently. We, as the people who will be represented by the contract, never see what the union(s) even asked for to start negotiations. Was there any give and take? Or, did they just be-doverand take what the company gave? This should be information supplied to all members, all locals.

Union leaders are reaping all the benefits and I keep on paying dues. Total BS

I don't know what you're complaining about. You joined us because you couldn't or didn't want to be bothered negotiating your pay and benefits. Now, you want the responsibility?!
Shut up, pay your dues and let the adults handle this.
Get another job if you don't like it.

These are very evil immoral individuals who are desperately clinging to power and the wealth that their position brings them.
After decades and decades of strike fund collection, why aren't we paid from day one until unemployment kicks in?
Where is that strike fund anyhow? Someone's in-ground pool?

I hear what you're saying @c6. Why don't you run for office? They'll destroy you and drag your good name through the mud, as if you're a pariah, but have at it, if you have the fortitude to be wrongly maligned. They are very protective of their cash cow.
btw, it's all about loyalty rather than doing what is right.

@c6 it's always over even before the first vote is cast. Same with elections. Nothing ever changes, although 1101 did rock the boat vote once upon a time. BIG mistake. Their previous leadership mistakenly allowed for the voice of the members to be heard after years of disdain. Seriously, do you actually like any of the people currently representing you? I find few acceptable.

the union contract is garbage the union sold its membership out since 2008 and every contract since we lost. The locals 1109,1101,1106 said to vote No.That was all smoke and mirrors, they knew it was a done deal.there like the politicians that run this country ,their all full of SH@#

@ae I certainly doubt if you make more in compensation. Not all white-collar and non-union employees are making minimum wages.

Wake-up and smell the coffee!

@OP You need to get past the velvet rope and hang with the “in” crowd! Ya know, get in on the lunches and golf outings. You probably won’t see a steward till the next election anyways.
