Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

I "survived" the cuts

I'm one of the unlucky ones who's still employed by this trash company. I'm now going to have to do the work of 4 people, and I'm already DROWNING. In our dept meeting they kept saying we'll still meet our deadlines and learn how to "do more with less". It's IMPOSSIBLE.

I sincerely envy my associates who were let go.

@at I've got a clue. They have long noses and they like to circumcise boys.

There is no such thing as a hard job at Toxic-Mobile. Just various layers of bullsh-t.

@OP I got laid off and it honestly feels like I struck gold. I was working 6AM to 7PM nonstop. I probably burned through my bonus on Uber Eats alone. I’m out—finally taking a vacation.

You envy those gone now until you realize what it's like being out of work for 6-7 months in the worst economy since 08. Stop being a baby and goldbrick the rest of the way to your paychecks.

@am Deutsch Telekom and SoftBank can sell their shares at any time. It’s a publicly traded company.

@ae This is always the refrain: “You are just lucky to have a job.”

Maybe you should ask yourself who made this economy trash, fu--ing over the workers of this country, and stop being such a slave.

@ae massive difference between quitting and being laid off. so many don't want to be here, but quitting has drastically different outcomes than being laid off.

@OP if you feel it’s a trash company jsut quit already. Many of us do not want to lose our jobs. You should be thankful in today’s economy that you have a job. Shame on you.

Did you put in for a VSP? If this is true, you could have requested to be put in for VSP. Of course there is no guarantee, but it could potentially help save someone else's position.

@a6 I don't get what the game is. I know they've been building a huge office in India. Maybe they're sending it all there.

I have a hunch, and that's all it is, that they're going to sell the company. Highest profit of all time. Stocks are...okay. Cutting all the jobs shows how "good they are at cutting spending".

I wonder if DT and SB are looking at selling. Wouldn't shock me.

Funny. We've been "Doing more with less" for over 20 years. Eventually there's nothing more to give.
