Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

My work, their credit again

I just watched someone present the project I've been leading for months as if they did all the work. No mention of me, no acknowledgment, just their name on my effort. This isn't the first time either. I'm so tired of watching other people build their reputations off what I actually do.

I’m pretty sure the only reason I haven’t been laid off yet is because who would take credit for my work then. I’m the lowest paid and highest “valued” on my team. I used to not care but now I’m getting annoyed with one foot out the door. The second I get a job offer I’m gone.

@cx

Aren't you a dutiful little bootlicker.

Performance management is as inept as anything else around here so it's easy to ditch, dodge, deflect, or delay work with impunity.

I'm super sorry but your little fantasy will have to remain a dream. Find a way to live with it, chief.

Get off this board and get back to all your hard work. It's sure to pay off one of these days...🤣🤣🤣

Here’s what I did after the first time my work credit was stolen. I put bogus info and minor enough mistakes in the work that the doofus didn’t notice, but his boss did. He couldn’t say I did it because then he would admit the work wasn’t his. He was going to lose either way. They soon fired him. He sells real estate now

Spent the last two years creating processes on how things are supposed to work using industry best practices and management took all the credit in their slide show. No acknowledgement that I was the one who taught them.

@ct horrible approach. But hopefully you have a leader who doesn’t reward you for lack of performance and is exploring PIPs

Sounds toxic. Keep your head down and look for work elsewhere. If you go to a competitor or refuse to disclose your new employer when you give your 2 weeks you won't have to work those out (and you'll get paid).

That happens everywhere unfortunately. As*holes are going to do what they’re going to do. You should CYA and make sure that as many people as possible know it was your work.

We had this happen. Told management and they said not to rock the boat…

This happens everywhere. I left Cigna and pulled someone who I thought was a friend to my new company. He has taken my work and packaged it as his own. He’s putting it in front of executives. Utter bs.

I saw that happen at eviCore too. I was like WTF? Left there fast. I'd speak up if I was you - but having a backbone is often risky.

Lots of that at Cigna, especially in the technical areas at EviCore. Watch out for those senior advisors there.
