If I take PTO leading up to my last day and return my badge, laptop, and other equipment before that PTO starts, will I still be paid for those PTO days, or would my access be deactivated immediately and my pay stop at that point?

One thing I won't be doing during my notice period is going to the office. If they had a category called "IDGAF" in the exception days drop down menu, I might put in for it, but who cares if you get flagged when you're about to quit?
You have to give the appropriate days per your letter grade to get what is owed to you. In most states you lose any unused vacation so make sure you take that. Also, use your work from anywhere days during your notice so you at least decrease the number of days in the office. Throw in a sick day or two also. Just make sure you follow all policies so you do not lose what is owed to you. Look it up and do not take random advice. Leave on good terms.
I wouldn’t trust them. Take your pto just before you give notice and expect nothing more.
As long as you have resigned with adequate notice for your position you can proceed as outlined above assuming your resignation was approved in Oracle and associated PTO inputted.
@OP why would you do it that way out of curiosity? Maybe take your PTO and don’t announce you’re ‘quitting’. It would be paid that way. Unless I missed something, I don’t understand your methodology. You don’t owe them anything. Don’t worry about laptop or badge. Let them ask for it back. As for the backstops the other responder mentioned, BNY is a dysfunctional mess and won’t even realize what you are doing for a while. Backstops don’t exist there. They have no legal or HR department left for most part. If you surprise them, will end up with bonus PTO. If you tell them you won’t and your access would most likely be removed and payment will cease. Believe me, they will not attempt to claw back anything from you. Again, they have no viable legal department. Best of luck to you and others. Work them over a bit vs. them working you over. They certainly will if you let them. Most unethical company in the industry unfortunately.
Nooo. We are still in March. Will never happen till July. PTO is not paid out except in a few states and there are backstops to prevent such excursiones.
