I know this a layoff forum so I apologize in advance if this sounds insensitive. Just trying to get a feel for the company since it’s 3 years before 401k/pension vest.

Being vague on purpose here- Not an underwriter but have been in an analytical role. Been with PNC long enough to be vested.
I got a $0.36 per hour raise for the year. I got more meaningful raises at my high school fast food job. Disgusting. 36 cents
@OP what did you decide?
PNC doesn't really do raises for 90% of their workforce. 1~2% for the majority which won't cover your yearly COL increases. Expect that you'll need to get promoted or leave to get a substantial increase in your pay.
Why did you go through all the steps and time to get the point of an offer and THEN ping the market on the feel of the company? Horse being behind the cart nonetheless I’d say In this market, especially as an (I’m assuming loan) underwriter, take the job. PNC is an excellent bank and generally well-run toward conservative if not sometimes frustrating loan guidelines. Benefits are strong, company subsidies for healthcare are better than most, and culture is supportive. You WILL complain about pay one day and you WILL jump on the “I got a rock” bandwagon come annual raise time, so negotiate your best now.
It’s NOT three years for 401(k) vesting, only pension portion (which is not enough to decide anything on). Career advancement has been, in my experience, narrowed to who you know and where you live, like any other large company. Working remote in El Paso? Good luck. On a large local in-office team in PA? Good chance for visibility and upward moves.
You
Might find better out there. But you could definitely do a lot worse.
