I have a job alert set up for network engineering positions. This week and last week they’ve posted 4 or 5 in India. None in the US. Are they offshoring engineering???

The gig is up. Majority is done overseas already. AI will be the nail in the coffin. There is no future for network engineers here, maybe anywhere in the USA. Think about it would you recommend it as a career to one of your children?
@a2 how will they manage infrastructure remotely? Via Ashburn and Independence.
Face your gig is up.
Outsourcing 101
OP where have you been over the last few years? When was the last time you even went into work? If you don't need to show up why does it surprise you that there are 3rd worlders out there just as willing to not show up for less.
yes, this has been happening since past year for NW positions even AD in NW also posted for !ndia. I guess, we have more Jan-14 coming up NEXT.... Up to Speed !!!
@op maybe it’s not just role, maybe VZ going international?
@OP didn't you notice offshoring/outsourcing to HCLT 2-3 years ago? same thing. sure they work there for 1/2, need 3 times more people and 5 times more escalations to get sh-t done but who at the c- level gives a sh-t??
Yes. Where have you been? Any job that can be done remote is doomed. It will either been done for half in some foreign land or done by AI for some other fraction of cost. It is what it is.
@a2 The same way the American worker making $98,000 a year does, but for half the price and none of the benefits.
How will they manage network remotely ?
